Unreached People Groups – Fulbe Futa (Video)

Jeri: “Hi, I’m Jeri, and today we have a special guest with us, Isahtu, who is a Fulbe Futa in the Fulani family, and she is a follower of Jesus Christ. And I understand that there’s about five million Fulbe Futa in the whole world and seven or eight thousand of them are right here in New York City. Would you like to share a little bit about how they came here?”

Isahtu: “Fulbe Futa came from western Africa in Guinea in a region called Futa Jallon. They left the country for a different country around Senegal, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali, even Europe, United States, Canada to find a better life for themselves and their families. That is why they come here.”

Jeri: “Okay, how about their religion?”

Isahto: “To be a Fulbe Futa is to be a Muslim, and so the whole family follows the laws of Islam and the whole community. It’s very family and community oriented.”

Jeri: “What would you like to share with your people group as far as being a follower of Jesus Christ?”

Isahto: “I can say that since I chose to follow Christ, I experienced a peace I didn’t have before, peace with God, and also a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. I didn’t have that before, and also this assurance that not because of what I have done but because of what Jesus has done, giving his life as an innocent man for my sin.”
“I have the assurance that if today I leave this earth, I will be with God because of him, because of what he did on the cross.”

Jeri: “Amen. Thank you so much, and we are now going to pray for the Fulbe Futa.”
“And now, Craig is going to lead us in prayer.”

Craig: “Oh Creator God, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, You, who sent the sacrifice, You who made the provision through Jesus Christ for all the Fulbe Futas.”
“Oh God, help them see that following Jesus is not following some Christianity invented by some culture of white people or any other kind of people, Lord God, but it is from above, pure, holy, full of truth. It is truth, and you invite everyone whosoever will may come.”
“Lord, we pray that the barriers of working and day and night, trying to learn the culture themselves around them and so many things and so much bitterness and resentment that seems to find a place in their hearts, oh God, from the many things they’ve suffered and their ancestors have suffered at so many different hands.”
“We pray instead the love, the peace, and the joy of Jesus Christ and of your everlasting kingdom will replace all of that. We pray that they will come to know you and turn from seeking other spiritual paths that link them with demons and other beings that don’t have their best interest at heart so we give them up to you, Fulbe Futa, and we just love them in the name of Jesus Christ and pray in his name, amen.”
