Missions Can Be Hard
One of our missionaries was invited into the living room of a Muslim man—Fariq. Nuts and dates were shared. Tea was poured. His friend Haroun was also there. And for the first time, Fariq heard the life-changing message of Jesus.
He listened intently as our missionary spoke of the love of God, the reality of sin, and the hope we have through Jesus’ death and resurrection. Fariq had never heard this before. But when it came time to respond, he deflected. Doubts about the Bible surfaced. Familiar lies took hold. The conversation shifted.
It’s moments like these that can feel disheartening—like tossing seeds onto concrete. And yet, God is still at work. He alone can soften hearts, open eyes, and cause the Gospel to take root.
Our missionary walked away from that night burdened, but also filled with hope. A seed was planted where there had been none.
Pray with us for Haroun and Fariq—that God will rescue them and give them eyes to see the truth of Christ and hearts to trust in Him alone for salvation.
