Special COVID-19 Update
Dear Friend,
Thank you, thank you for your prayers and your partnership as we navigate through the storm of the coronavirus pandemic. Please know that we are praying for you, even as you remember us in your prayers.
Though Global Gates missionaries serve in 24 cities, our largest deployment is in metro New York, the global epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic.
Here are some glimpses into what your Global Gates missionaries in metro NYC are experiencing:
- Noting that one out of six NYC police officers is out sick, a Global Gates missionary in Queens delivered pizza to the local police department and offered a prayer (from a safe distance) for these first responders.
- In partnership with a Chinese businessman with connections to PPE factories in China, Global Gates missionaries are facilitating the delivery of 2,000 face masks to Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, the heart of the coronavirus outbreak in NYC.
- Two Global Gates families in New Jersey have had a rough two weeks as they have seen the virus move through both of their families. They are beginning to show signs now of recovery.
- In a new Global Gates church start in New York, two church members who are converts from a Muslim background have tested positive for the coronavirus.
- One of our Global Gates missionaries in the Bronx participated in a food distribution to the needy in her community. She and her husband are both now in bed with the coronavirus.
God is at work in this season of COVID-19.
I know that many of our partners across the country are suffering from isolation and economic upheaval. Please know that we are praying for you. Some partners, however, have asked “How can we help?” If you are able to give during these troubled times, please know that your gifts are making a difference. Thank you, dear friend, for reaching the ends of the earth in our own nation with your gifts to and through Global Gates.
Grateful for you,
David Garrison
