Meet Our Guest Speakers

Davis Blount
Blount is a North Carolina certified public accountant (CPA) with more than 35 years of experience. He assists clients in navigating their income tax and retirement matters. Blount has led the efforts of the Baptist State Convention  of NC Compensation and Benefits Services Group for more than a decade. He educates churches about compensation and employer benefits to help in their efforts to comply with federal and state laws, and that they’re taking proper care of their staff. Blount also meets individually with church staff to review and educate them about income tax, retirement, and other financial matters that are unique to people who serve in the ministry.

Al and Karen (KK) Gilbert
The Gilberts served mission-minded churches in Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia. Al also had the opportunity to help lead the mobilization efforts of both the IMB and the North American Mission Board (NAMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). In 2019, the Gilberts started Encourage Global, using their ministry experience to encourage Missionaries.

Dr. Curtis Sergeant
Sergeant served with the International Mission Board (IMB) among an unreached people group (UPG) in China. After a movement started there, he began training for the house-church networks in China and others around the world in how to do the same. Later he served as a Vice President (VP) for Global Strategy with the IMB. Sergeant then transitioned to Saddleback Church, where he oversaw church planting and helped catalyze a large-scale church planting project in India that engaged 100 unengaged unreached people groups. Afterward, he joined E3 Partners as the International VP. Now, he runs a disciple-making and missions training center called MetaCamp in Dadeville, AL (metacamp.org). He is also a co-facilitator of the 24:14 coalition (2414now.net), serves on the leadership team for Finishing the Task (finishingthetask.com), and founded the Zume project (zume.training).

This text models for us a Christ-centered prayer strategy that is surrendered and urgent for the task.
