Global Gates Leadership

Our Story

God brought Global Gates into being in 2012 through the collaboration of Brad and Sara Wall, and Chris and Nichole Clayman. Although we weren’t keen on starting a new organization, we knew an entity like Global Gates needed to exist to make disciples and start churches among, and through, the unreached people groups of Metro New York. Our vision and mission quickly expanded to include other global gateway cities and attracted involvement from global mission leaders

Today, we inspire, catalyze, and facilitate mission work among unreached people groups in many global gateway cities in various countries. We also work in some of the least-reached places of the world as we follow relational lines from unreached people groups in cities to their homelands.

Cindy Wiles
Chairman

Cindy Wiles is a long-time missions leader and advocate from Arlington, Texas. Cindy serves on the board of several ministries and is the founder and executive director of Restore Hope, a globally focused church-based ministry that seeks to restore “hope to individuals and communities across the world through Christ-centered, church-based proclamation and service.”

Cindy and her church have been long-time supporters of Global Gates. She comes to us with a wealth of experience in bringing the gospel to the world’s least-reached people groups in North America and around the world. Cindy’s husband, Dennis, is senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Arlington, Texas.

Brad Wall
Board Member

Brad is an Associate Director and co-founder of Global Gates Network. Prior to founding Global Gates, Brad led teams in Southeast Asia with the International Mission Board. Brad lives in NYC with his wife and three children.

Mary Carpenter
Board Member

Mary Carpenter has valued the work of Global Gates for many years and now joins the board in a more formal capacity. Mary, her husband David, and their three young children served as missionaries in the country of Albania shortly after the fall of communism. Mary then served on the staff of First Baptist Church, Woodway as their global mission coordinator. Following her time with FBC Woodway she returned to her alma mater, Howard Payne University, where she taught in the Religion Department.

Now retired, she and David are involved in their local church, serving with young marrieds, and encouraging others to be aware of those brought into our borderless circle of influence. She has three grown children and is completely enamored with her five grandchildren.

Larry Cox
Board Member

Larry Cox has been a follower of Jesus since age 11. His family were the first members of a church plant when he was in high school, which led him to commit his life for vocational Christian ministry. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi College, master’s degrees from Southern Baptist Seminary and from Mississippi State University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi. He and his wife Cheryl have four children and 16 grandchildren.

Larry and his wife served as missionaries in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East during 23 years with the IMB. For 14 years, he started and led ministries for WinShape, Lifeshape and Impact 360 Institute–philanthropic organizations of Chick-fil-A. He retired from serving as the President of Lifeshape, Inc. at the end of 2018. He is now a Managing Partner of CoxNichols LLC.

Gary Donaldson
Board Member

Gary Donaldson accepted Christ at the age of 8. The event that drew him to Christ was the divorce of his parents. The divorce left a void in his life, and he was drawn to his Heavenly Father realizing that he would never leave him. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a master’s degree from Pepperdine University. He and his wife Bettye have two children and one grandchild. Gary served throughout the US, Far East and Europe during his 22-year military career. Following the military, he served with Delta Airlines in the areas of IT and Program Management. Gary’s most recent position was with the WinShape Foundation where he was responsible for Business Services (IT, HR, Security, Contracting, Facilities) and all the back-office support areas for 5 ministries.

George Russ
Board Member

George Russ is the Executive Director of the Metropolitan New York Baptist Association.  A native New Yorker, George helps the churches of the association to plant new churches, grow Godly leaders and minister together. George works with churches of multiple linguistic and cultural backgrounds in all kinds of contexts in metro New York City. He and his wife Donna have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. He is a bagel afficionado and lifelong Yankee fan.

Matt Sprink
Board Member

Matt Sprink is the Pastor of Community Engagement with First Baptist Church of Blue Springs, Missouri. He has lived and worked through different seasons of life in Texas, Missouri, Johannesburg and London. He received a B.B.A. in Business Management from Baylor University and a M.Div. in Theology from George W. Truett Theological Seminary. He loves street food, good coffee and laughing over long meals with family and friends. He shares life and table with his wife Holly and their two kids, Lucy & Mikias.

Dr. Chuck Register – Executive Director

Dr. Chuck Register serves as the Executive Director of Global Gates, joining the organization in 2023. Prior to Global Gates, Register served for 14 years on the executive leadership team of a state denomination. His primary responsibilities included leading teams of coaches and catalysts in missions mobilization and church planting. Prior to his denominational work, Register served 20 years as a senior pastor of local congregations and as an associate professor of evangelism and director of the Landrum P. Leavell II Center for Evangelism and Church Growth at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Register received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, and both a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Theology degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, New Orleans, Louisiana.
