ROLE DESCRIPTION: WHAT DOES A PRAYER COORDINATOR DO?
Unreached people from some of the world’s most least-reached regions do not know Christ and more laborers are needed to share with them the name of Jesus. Many will even say they have never met a Christian.
The Prayer Coordinator role needs to be focused on because the battle for our friends’ souls is a spiritual one.
The Prayer Coordinator would maintain and/or refine current prayer initiatives. Examples include:
• Updating secret Facebook page with prayer requests
• Providing volunteers with statuses on what is being prayed for
• Interfacing with team and Global Gates prayer coordinator
• Mobilizing local prayer walks and/or drives
• Coordinating prayer for recipients of mailers
While some prayer initiatives have already begun, the Prayer Coordinator should seek to create innovative approaches to rallying prayer in churches and other community organizations. In addition to maintaining current (and developing new) prayer strategies, the Prayer Coordinator would be expected to model a lifestyle of prayer for our UPG neighbors.
Depending on any new initiatives created, the time commitment could range from 2.5 to 5 hours a month.
ARE YOU A FIT?
Are you convinced that God hears our prayer; particularly with regard to people coming to saving faith in Christ? Do you have a heart to see people from countries with little gospel witness come to Christ? Are you already interceding on behalf of the lost?
